I spent some time with Grace last night making chocolate eclairs. Yum yum yum they were good. I love a dessert that is not too sweet because I actually am not huge into sweets but I still got a sweet tooth. It was easy, not too many ingredients, and most importantly I CAN DO IT!

Well yesterday Grace and I drove up to West Covina for her friend Caroline's birthday. I volunteered to go up with Grace because she didn't want to just drive up for dinner and then have to drive all the way back right after dinner. So she and I decided to go a little early so we could hang out a bit before heading to Lindsey's (sp?) place. We had decided that a good way to pass our time driving up to West Covina was to practice French. So we drove up in her car trying to speak French as we listened to a French tape. I'm still trying to remember the days of the week. lol. I gave her a little sample of the very tonal Laotian language. That was pretty difficult for Grace and I think for a lot of people! Remember those 1-2-3s Grace!
So getting up there wasn't difficult thanks to Grace's spiffy PDA. We were supposed to meet at her friend's apartment before going to dinner and that was another little adventure. We kept driving up and down the street trying to find 1309 but the numbering for the address was weird. Turns out we weren't looking for 1309 but 1609 or something like that. :D Well we decided to give up on the search because I was starving and Grace could eat I guess. She wasn't really hungry but I can always eat. ;D We again drove and drove until I asked where it was that we were driving to. Grace replied that she wanted to go back down the main road that we came on. There looked to be some places that we could eat at. Well I told her that we needed to turn a long time ago and that we had actually never driven down this street. lol. So again we had to back track and look for a little shopping center with a variety of resturants. We go to one and nothing there. We finally decided on this rather good sushi place. I'm really hungry at this point and just getting out to stretch my legs and get some food was reason enough to just select ANYTHING at this point. I really liked the place even though it was empty. The food was good and we ended up listening to a bit of music on her PDA.
After we ate around 3, we were supposed to meet at her friend's place at 4. We didn't quite plan it out right because we really should have gotten a snack because we were supposed to go to dinner in an hour! But I guess we lost track of time after driving up and down the same street. lol. Anyways it was perfect timing for us because we still needed to get a card for her friend's birthday and at this point we had a half hour to kill anyways. Well after we got done with the card shop we went looking for the apartment and we're supposed to find a Pet Boys because it's right behind it. So we drive a bit and Grace asked if we passed it but I wasn't paying attention but she thought we had passed it so we turn back. The Pet Boys was in the same shopping center as the card shop! We could have walked to his apartment. We should have turned right instead of left like we did. It was very typical of that day. lol.
So still full from lunch and the idea of having dinner grossing us out Caroline had to decide where to go for her birthday. The longer it took the better. Well we ended going to the Elephant Bar which was really neat. They have a great menu selection with great prices. As it turns out we didn't get to eat until 7 so that gave us a little break but we still were full so we ordered a couple of salads.
We go back to the apartment for cake and her ex roomie Kim baked a delicious chocolate cake with a mint frosting. Yum!
So on our way back home we leave around 9:30 pm. I don't drive at night at long distances because 1) I get tired but 2) I don't see very well. So normally Todd will drive home and I fall asleep in the car. I am there to keep Grace company and make sure she doesn't fall asleep so I just couldn't put my seat down and say "good night". However, I was falling into a sugar coma from all of the cake, (It was huge!) so I had to make a real effort to stay awake. I was becoming delirious however and I just couldn't keep my eyes open anymore but I wanted to keep talking so Grace had company. Well a lot of times images would pop into my head and I would start to comment on them. I would start to say a word but I would catch myself because Grace would have no idea what I was seeing in my head. Grace however never heard me say anything. So when I would say a word I would catch myself and then it would be my cue to talk about something else. That kinda of went on for a while and then I finally told Grace what was happening. I didn't want her to think I was any more weirder than I am when I would say one word and then say something else. I don't know if that even made sense but you had to be there. So when I wasn't thinking about stuff, I was having conversations with Grace in my head. lol. I know I'm sounding like a whacko but I'm really not. So when there would be moments of silence I thought that we were talking but they were just conversations in my head. So once Grace asked if I was having one of those conversation in my head. Anytime she spoke she woke me out of my sleeping stupor. I would laugh and say yes. So after 11 pm the sleepiness had passed a little and I was able to keep my eyes open. See that's the key really because once you close your eyes, you really start to lose a lot of your senses. lol.
Anyhow poor Grace had to drive me home which is probably 30 minutes pass where she lives. My brother dropped me off at her house but I needed her to drive me home. So when she dropped me off she waited until I was safe and soundly in the house. Awww. I always think it's cool when people wait for you to get into the house instead of driving off. I'm like that as well, so when other people do that for me I have to commend them for it. So Grace that was really awesome of you. And that everyone is my adventure with Grace. I'm sure she can fill in any holes in the story. ;D
Well yesterday was my 4 year anniversary with Todd and it was a great day. He gave me the sweetest card. I love cards so this meant a LOT to me. We didn't exchange presents because both of us need to watch our money so I decided that a nice lunch would be enough for us. We went to Red Lobster and it wouldn't seem like that big a deal but Todd does not like seafood but he was willing to go to make me happy. Awww. So we had a nice lunch and then drove around a bit. We ended hanging with Grace at her house. I ended up doing her make up again. Grace YOU MUST POST THE PICTURES! She looked awesome. We did her make up a little like Michelle does hers. We decided to go to Islands resturant for dessert since we were still kinda full from lunch. Grace decided to stay home :( but more on that later. So I called up my friend Miriam who lives on UCSD to come out for dessert with Todd and I since she was so close to us. She came and we enjoyed some very yummy Kona Pie, margarita, and rootbeer float. The conversation and food were all flowing and we really enjoyed each other's company. So my anniversay was spent with Todd and a couple of good friends that I dearly cherish. I'd say all in all it was a perfect day.
Anyways I am driving up with Grace to LA this morning. She is not online yet so I don't know if she stayed up late last night. I think it will be fun. We'll do some window shopping hopefully while we're up there. :)

Well the blog as you should have noticed by now has gotten a major face lift thanks to Grace. You are an incredible designer. What a great friend to do this for me. I truly appreciate it.

Gawd damn I am tired. I've been staying up too late and getting up early for various reasons. Need to get some sleep soon. I don't lead a very busy life but boy can it get crazy. Time for bed I think.
