Well another weekend down the drain. I need to do something fun, exciting, and at the same time relaxing. Oh well atleast I'll have a easy week at work right? Wrong! More STAR testing.
Gawd I'm tired. The kids are doing S.T.A.R. testing this week and next. The test will just go to show how public schools are failing because our kids are not smart. Nice huh? I really wish they would do away with standardized testing because they don't truly measure how smart a kid is. I don't know of a better way to measure how well schools are doing or not but I know one thing, it's not on the teachers and schools, it's also the parents. But of course they aren't to be blamed in all of this. I never tested well but I think I'm a bright and intelligent person. Let's hope so because I'm a teacher:o) Anyhow this facial should be fun tomorrow. I need some time to relax this week.
I bought my plane ticket and handed in my notice for the time off. It's official, I'm going to go to Orlando, FL for my cousin's wedding. I wasn't so sure that I would be able to go but it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll make it to Disney World. That's all I care about. I'll do the wedding stuff and sit home all day until the wedding helping out but I have to make it to the Magic Kingdom. It would be wrong of my cousin if they don't fit this into their schedule.
Well this week didn't start off very well because I'm back at work, no more just sitting around the house hanging out or going to Kristen's to watch movies. Thanks btw for humoring me and watching the Ring. It wasn't too bad. It was a pretty good scary movie though. I thought it was kind of along the lines of "The Others". There were some freaky moments but the movie does a good job of creating this mood and dread without being too scary. It was scary but I expected much worse.
Anyway as I was saying, the week didn't start off well and it didn't continue to get better because Todd just receive his two week's notice. He's getting laid off from his job because he works in the aerospace industry of building airplane parts. Now with the war and the SARS scare, not a lot of people are flying much. (This scares me a little too, I've never flown for more than an hour. I can't imagine 6-8 hours.) So the airline industry is majorly suffering. People aren't flying, so Todd loses his job. That sucks but it was time to get out anyways baby. You'll find something better. In the meantime I guess I'll have to support him. That is until I'm out of my job. Damn it sucks to be looking for a job in California today. $10 billion cut in education in California. We are seriously looking at a recession. I hope things pick up soon or somebody may be out of office. On the other hand, what's a few months of sacrifice compared to years of woe?
It's the last days of my Spring Break. :( I've had a good two weeks though. It's been very nice and relaxing! I really did need this time off to rejunvenate. I may or may not get to post tomorrow, so I'm going to wish you all a Happy Easter and Spring
Well this is my last post as a 25 year because at midnight, I will turn the big 2-6. Yep that's right 26 years old. Yippee. Onto my post...
Well I dragged Kristen out of bed this morning to go through the Suzy's Zoo tour. If you don't know what Suzy's Zoo is, check out this link. It was awesome to see the behind the scenes stuff and to see all of these products. There were some vintage and some new ones that I'm excited about. I would love to buy everything! It's dangerous. I need to go like once a year because I spend soo much!
The Toys R' Us commercial just came on and I love it! The rabbits singing is sooooo cute! I love it.
Wow what a weekend. Saturday night my mom went to the hospital. She's okay but damn I hate waiting. Thanks to Todd for staying the entire night and morning!
Thanks for going to the movies with me Kris. I'm glad I finally got to see the animated movie "Sprited Away". It was really cute and lots of interesting characters. Well I was just watching Entertainment Tonight this morning and I have one word to describe the new Matrix trailer: Wow!!! The action sequence looks AMAZING. This is just going to blow the original away. Wow, check out the trailer when you can. Anyways, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is out today! Yay. My birthday is coming up. Hmm???
I like boybands. Well I should really qualify that statement by saying I like one in particular: N Sync. Yes yes I am not a teenybopper so what am I doing listening to boybands? Well I think N Sync is great because I think that they are actually talented and secondly I like the music. Anyways I was reading People magazine and there was result from a poll that was taken that asked. "Who will have a more successful solor career? Nick Carter or Justin Timberlake?" The results really shouldn't have been close but they were shockingly wrong! 51% stupidly said Nick Carter versus 49% who said Timberlake. It should be clear to everyone that Justin is better looking, has a personality, and can sing and is way more talented than Nick Carter. This was a while ago so why waste my breath talking about this or humiliate my friends and family by mentioning that I like Justin Timberlake and N Sync? (By the way, have you seen Ashton Kutcher's MTV show "Punked" where they play jokes on celebrities? It's hilarious to see celebs get it. Anyways the very first episode had Justin on it and it was funny. They took his 9 million dollar homes, a bunch of his automobiles, and all his possessions because the "IRS" claimed that he owed back taxes and were going to auction his stuff to get their money. Anyways if you saw the show you can see that Justin was brought up right and that momma did a good job of raising her son because he was a gentlemen thoughtout the whole "ordeal". Oh well I digress from my point.) I was reading on the Star100 website because I like to get my daily gossip there and here's a bit of info about how my man Nick Carter is doing.
"NICK CARTER and O-TOWN are having a hard time selling tickets. The two acts' concert in South Carolina, scheduled to take place tomorrow, has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. According to the show's promoter, only about 1,000 tickets were sold for the Civic Center which holds as many as 3,500 people. The concert was intially supposed to take place in a 15,000 seat amphitheater, but was later moved to a smaller venue. It apparently wasn't small enough..."
Wow some exciting news regarding the next HARRY POTTER book! I'm soooooo excited for this. So are we waiting up til midnight to get the book Kris? OMG it looks sooooo good. Well from the Leaky Cauldron.org site they got this exclusive about a summary of the next book. This is a huge spoiler so don't read it unless you want to know.
Well I got my taxes done this weekend. Yay! I'm happy I'm not paying anything and getting a refund. I'll probably buy a cd player for my car since it only has a cassette deck. Well yesterday I went to Todd's sister's place all the way out in Japatul. We had turkey enchiladas. They were actually really good and then we had some Julian pie with ice cream. Yummm. Well we got into a game of Trivial Persuit and I had to go buy it to play with Todd. Kristen we gotta have a game night.
